Extrapulmonary tuberculosis

The textbook deals with the modern fundamental issues of extrapulmonary tuberculosis in accordance with the orders and protocols approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The textbook covers the following sections: etiopathogenesis, pathological anatomy, clinical forms and classifications, principles of diagnosis (laboratory and instrumental, clinical), treatment, and prevention of the common extrapulmonary diseases caused by pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis. The textbook highlights the research information on the study of pharmacogenetic factors of antituberculosis medication effects, which is of great importance for phthisiatric practice in the treatment of chemoresistant forms of tuberculosis and multimorbid TB/HIV pathology since the latter has a global tendency to spread. Each topic section contains self-control questions, tests, and situational tasks for extracurricular and classroom training.
The textbook is intended for students of the 4th – 6th years of study of the educational program Phthisiology as well as for doctors of general practice and family medicine.
